Goodbyes.....and other stuff......

Saturday I stopped by Sharons
to say the last goodbyes......so sad to see the house empty and hollow, but Im sure she will work her magic on the new place and it will be the new party house....best of luck, and happy trails and all that good stuff, and I cant wait to hear about your adventures!!!!

We had friends over yesterday for a BBQ, and they brought lobster tails they had caught, I cannot say yummmmm enough times.....so I wanted to try a new potato recipe...these are smashed potatos from Pioneer Woman.com.....just boil some red potatos til they are done, put them an a cookie sheet that has olive oil on it....smash them with a potato masher, and if you are like me and your masher fell behind the stove 4 years ago, just use a fork....then paint them with olive oil, sprinkle kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, and whatever herbs you want, chives or parsley, fresh, are nice.....then pop them into theoven at 450 until they are nice and golden brown, about 20 minutes or so.......yummy!!!!


Pokey decided to climb off his cage when no one was looking and make his way over to our friends back, and before anyone knew it he was on his neck.....the look on his face....priceless........no blood was drawn.....a good thing!





My friend Sue and I managed to get in some scrapping while the boys watched the dodger game....this is the year mini book that Glenni made me for Christmas....I worked on the May pages, from my trip....I learned a lot of new tips and Im loving my book a lot more right now, thanks Glenni, and thanks Costco.com!!!
My friend Sue LOVES to scrap and she has every tool, paper, gadget and new thing that has ever come out....she has been scrapping for about 8 years, and you can imagine how many albums, mini books and pages she has made......only thing is, she has never put a picture on a page!!!!!!!! She just loves to work with all the fun papers, embellishments, stickers, etc.....but if you look in those books and albums...NO PICTURES......lololol..she says its because she needs to organize her pictures......lolololol......ok I said, 8 YEARS, enough!!! I gave her homework.........I will keep you posted!

Why I love New England.....

I mostly love Ct. because there are people there I love.....my daughter, my Glenni.....but for a Cali girl, this is paradise. There are many things we do not have here in cali....these geese for instance.....look, they all have babies, bear with me you New Englanders, I know you see this stuff every day, but for me, I get watery eyes seeing this nature. I have sparrows and red finches and crows, you guys have RED cardinals, warblers and blue jays!!!! and GEESE!!!!

One of the highlights of my trip was a hike along a part of the Appalachian Trail, can you say BLISS......a babbling brook, moss, waterfalls, heaven to this desert dweller!


This was an awesome waterfall, and I could have stayed there all day.....

We made it to the top of the hike......I wont mention any of the words that may have slipped out of our mouths on the way up, the point is, my 56 year old rather ample ass made it to the top, and in great time too! This was just heaven for me and I cannot wait to go back and do it again, and again......
I will post more later, Brimfield.....and a great old cemetary were other highlights.....but this hike, unforgetable........

My Prim Yard

I spent the better part of yesterday planting tons of seeds, so I hope I have flowers and herbs soon..........I do have some sunflowers that are getting nice and tall, and so are my sweet peas, but they are showing any signs of flowers yet. My problem is a very shady yard, not a lot of sun......so Im keeping my fingers crossed.
Also, this is my first post using my MAC and uploading pics, Im keeping my fingers crossed that this turns out too!!!!

Diet Monday and How much fun can you stuff into a VW.

Let's get diet Monday out of the way....one pound weight loss this week, kind of sad for all the walking and jogging Im doing.....Yesterday I made the shrimp noodle bowl, very low cal and low fat...but I think my problem was.....

THIS.....this is the cheeseball I took to a BBQ saturday night......I curse the day I first learned about cheeseball!!!!!!!! AND Im very worried about my diet for the next 2 weeks......this week I have a few fun things planned...dodger game, dinner with friends......and next week I will be in New England with Tracey and Glenni.....Glenni has promised me Nathans hot dogs....and they both live a little too close to Stew Leonards for comfort...step AWAY from the apple cider donuts!!!!! and the Duncan Donuts cinnamon rolls....I will need all the willpower I can muster....and a lot of long hard walks!
Im so excited, I have not seen them since last August, or was it Sept?? too long anyways!

This is my little volkswagon bug.......it always amazes me how much stuff I can stuff into it...where theres a will theres a way.





Sharon had piles of goodies that she did not want to take with her when she leaves....so she let Nancyand I lose on them.....tons of fun stuff...fabric, kits, all kinds of fun....Nancy has an suv, not a problem, I, on the other hand had to get very creative. She says she has more piles for us this week, I will be taking hubbys car,lolololol.
The weather has been awesome here, its supposed to get very hot this week, so I will be working in my yard all week planting seeds....
Dodger game tonight, they are doing amazing, they could break another record tonight while we are there!!!!!!!!
American Idol, down to the wire...after that shocker last week, anything goes...maybe Danny can win it all after all!!!!!!!!! This has been a great season, they are all amazing...and after Rocker Girl rocked her ballad last week, I would buy her album too!!!!!!
