Quilt Market

Back from a fun few days in Portland at Quilt Market....Ms. Redwww.redgeraniumcottage.blogspot.com and I met up at the airport....and it was nothing but fun from then on!!! my dang pictures are out of order, so I will do my best here.....I took pics of some of my favorite things....its going to take a few days of posts to show you everything, and later this week I will show you what I bought and all the fun little gifties Sharon made for me!!!

I LOVED this little zipper bag in the aurafil booth, made me want to buy ALL the thread!!!

 and now I want to make pillows!!!

this was a full size at Heather Baileys booth!!!!!! it was all stitched with that big fat yarn!!!!

 If I could have fit this in my suitcase it would have gone home with me!!!!

OH did I mention we found the best martinis in town....lemongrass...OMG I had 2 everynight and 3 one night...that was the night I stumbled up to the room LMAO!!!! But I was in good company because Sharon matched me martini for martini!!

 She had these sliders a couple of night...omg they are on little mini buttermilk glazed DONUTS!!!!!

 and I had these luscious crabcakes!!!

 THIS was my favorite booth.....

 I bought several things from here and Ms. Red will be carrying lots of thier fun fabrics...too die for!!!!

Anyways...my life is nutso busy right now....so I will leave it at this and blog more pics tomorrow and lts of goodies I came home with!!!!!!
I can wait to see all these new goodies over at Sharons shop....FUN FUN FUN!!!!!

Random.......

 Remember last post I was taking a purse class.....here it is.....not sure if I will be making another one tho lolol...but it is cute!

 Also found this company and anything with an owl, that is aqua and hot pink has got to be for me...so my daughter and I took the plunge and will be selling this....

 We had our first party.....and ahhhhhhhh...aqua and pink....sooooo cute lololol.....forgot to take pics of the darling cupcakes with aqua sprinkles...but you get the idea lol....

 lots of art going on around here....

 lots of hanging out in the pool....

 some farmers market trips....

OHHHHHH and we celebrated Stellas 3rd birthday....where does time go........she wanted a bearded dragon.....so Nene of course got her one lololol......when it eats crickets she jumps up and down and squeals lololol......hummmmm.........

May and June promise to be fun...and BUSY!!!!  in a couple of weeks I will be meeting Ms. Red Geranium up in Portland for the quilt show...it promises to be a hoot, and hopefully no one pees thier pants laughing hyterically rolling on the floor  ...(yes that has happened when the 2 of us get together)...

Then the Mr. and I will be visiting friends in Denver for a weekend....the men will be going to a ball game and us gals will be seeing Joan Baez...cant wait for that!!!!

Then a glamping trip...which I will share later.....

Happy Spring everyone.....although Im not too happy right now, the winds are blowing at about 50 MPH and ruining my new herb gardens ........UGH!!!!!!

A frugal dinner....

 When asparagus is 88 cents a pound (at Sprouts)....its time for soup....

 I always start most of my soups with the trio...carrots onion and celery...saute in olive oil..

 add some salt and any other spice you like, I add a few red pepper flakes too....

 then I add the asparagus and about 4 cups of water....

 I reserve the tips...

 then I add some chicken stock from the jar....its way cheaper than buying chicken stock, if you have homemade, even better....and I always use the tablespoon that Ms. Red gave me because it tastes better....

 let it simmer til the vegies are soft......

 then get your immersion blender...I LOVE this thing!!! and blend away...

 add some cream if you have it...

 then add some milk.......and the tips and simmer away...if you want it thicker mix up some butter and flour and let it simmer...

 then make some homemade croutons from an old loaf of bread you have in your freezer...

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! this dinner cost about maybe 5 bucks......probably not quite...and theres plenty to freeze for another day!!!!

 Where in the world does the time go??????  I have been so busy that it just gets away from me.....I can tell you today I went to the farmers market...

 We have had a few parties...

 Im taking a sewing class...

 watching them grow....

and researching herb gardens.....

Time flies when you are having fun!

A little sprucing up....

 Spring is finally in the air around here....

 I have had this table for 30 years in my house, its oak, it was worn, so I painted it red and put in on my front patio.....

 LOVe anything red or green.....

 Hoping we have seen the last of the winds....

 this cookie jar was the one thing I always told my mom I wanted...she had it when I was born...almost 60 years ago...I have pictures of it in her kitchen when I was a baby.....so she didnt make me wait, she gave it to me a few years ago..I treasure it!

 Easters almost here...my fav holiday....and we have been working on Easter crafts...

Its still cold here...but not near as cold as the rest of the country so I wont complain...but Im really ready for SPRING!!! How about YOU??
