Mystery Solved..........

Well, as I said in my last post, I had a mystery plant growing, the plant intself looked like a zuchinni plant, but there was a large white, and also a greenish gourd like thing growing on it. Now I never planted this, I think it came from my birds food, started growing right in my flower planter and I didnt have the heart to pull it up. Well, my old friend Raggedyoldfriend stopped by yesterday, originally we were supposed to swim and lay in the sun all day then we had an earthquake, and her kids called, and well, we never got to work on our tan, but she did identify the plant, and it is a pumpkin, which I suspected, but strange colors threw me off........there are 2 of them on the vine, one is pretty big and it is turning yellow, maybe it will turn orange after all......mind you, I have no clue when it will be ripe, same story with all the other stuff I have growing in my tiny little yard. It all started because I wanted a cute prim garden, Ive never grown anything, now I have all kinds of stuff......there are watermelons, and does anyone know WHEN Im supposed to pick them, like when they are ripe, how do you tell, lololol....and I even have butternut squash....not to mention tomatos, and cucumbers, and peppers and crookneck, and zuchinni.....sooooooooo, Im pretty thrilled that I can actually grow stuff........I might be hooked on this gardening!!!!! so if anyone out there in blogland knows when watermelon and pumpkins and butternut squash get ripe, drop me a comment........

Today was national cheesecake day, and YES we supported our local Cheesecake factory, which is why Im gonna drag my big butt out for a walk, toodles!!!!

Works in Progress

Yesterday I forced my self to sew all the squares together for the quilt we are making at Sharons pajama party......its so pretty, but they tell me I will have to CUT IT UP to make the quilt we are making........hummmmmm, since this is the first BIG quilt I have made, do ya think they are gonna convince me to CUT IT UP???????????
This is the Halloweenie table topper I made, and Sharon quilted it for me with little pumpkins, it is adorable, that gal can quilt I tell ya, and shes fast if any of ya out there have stuff laying around that needs to be finished, shes your gal......she also quilted the cherries on my ME table topper you see on the coffee table, and theres a better pic of the cherries in the previous post.....but I show the coffee table because I finally found a new rug I like!!!!!!!!!!
Thats about, Im going swimming and laying out in the sun today..tomorrw Im gonna post some pictures of some things that are growing in my garden, and I dont know what they are, so maybe someone out there can help me figure it out??????????????

Not much going on.......

Sewing with the Sistas....

What better way to spend a Sunday than at Sharon's with Beth and Ms. No Blog....sewing and gabbing.........sorry my pictures turned out a little dark.........theres Beth wayyyyyy back there ironing, see her, Sharons house is so big you can get lost in it, and look at all the fun stuff shes got going on there, can you even find BETH?????? Look hard, shes back there!!!! And look at Ms. No Blog, can you tell where her quilt ends and her shirt begins???????? And poor Sharon, I put her to work quilting my ME table topper, I just twisted her arm just a little.......as soon as I get the binding on it I will show it, its so cute the way she did it. Thanks Girlfriend!!!!! Look at Beths cute little featherwieght, just adorable!!!!! So did I get anything done????? Well, I worked on a quilt that Ms.Blog is going to teach us at our pajama party......and I finished a Halloween table topper and left it for Cupcake to quilt, but I was nice and told her she didnt have to do that one the same day,lololol....
So a fun day.......and productive!!!

You beautiful RED grill pan/panini pan that I have wanted forever....
Look how beautiful, check out the grill marks, ok, since I've been home, I'm addicted the the cooking network, and grill marks are important, just ask Rachael or Paula......look how wonderful my squash looks, and very tasty too, I think because I grew it myself!!!!! Dude, if you dont have a grill pan yet, GO GET ONE!!!!! Its fun, and it looks good on top of your stove!!!!!!!!

OK, heres a little something Ive been wanting for awhile, a little machine I can take to sewing parties, and here it is, thanks to Ms. No Blog for her input, I love it.......
Heres a little something I got on my field trip with the sistas, Sharon and Beth...the other sista had to work:(
I saw this quilt done when Carol was out visiting and she and Sharon whipped this baby up in one night......and it was soooooo cute!!!! and of course, I LOVE red!!!!!!
and can I just toot my big ole horn over here, check out these things I grew, YES, I grew them, and theres more where they came from, lots more......well, no more peaches, they are all given out or frozen, but Im waiting cuz I know theres gonna be more squash, and tomatos and peppers and my cucaumber plants are going bonkers too!!!! Now I know to some of you this doesnt seem like a big deal, but humor me please, I have never done this before, oh, once I grew a zuchinni, but by the time I discovered it it was 7 feet long!!!!! Anyways, tonight I think I will grill me some squash and impress the hunk with my skills!!!!!! I already have him eating out of my hands with my peach cobbler, this will really put that hunk over the edge!!!! Plus he might forget to ask where that new sewing machine came from, lololololo.....
On a sad note, I will be working this weekend, first time back to work in 3 months, and can I say Im not happy about it..........but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do............I guess. maybe......

A Sewing Lesson.......

Yesterday I had the honor of spending a day learning from the master, oh, I mean Sharon aka Cupcake.....I went over to pick up my table topper that she so beautifully quilted with daisies, and she gave me a lesson in how to do bindings. Now Im a doll maker, I can make my own clothes, but this quilting is new to me......but between my sistas I think Im going to make it!!!! She also gave me a lesson in rotary cutting cuz I think she thought I was gonna cut a finger off or something.......I learned a lot yesterday!!! We also cut the squares I need for Miss No Blogs class/pajama party thats coming soon.....that girl can cut, she cut 100 squares before I could blink!!!!! No wonder she makes 10 quilts a week, I never saw anything like it!!!!! She treated me like a queen, she had snacks out, and a yummy pizza from CPK........
I hope she got to bed early for the trip she and Beth are taking, you can read about it over at her blog.
We finally picked most of the peaches from our tree, I have given out several bags, and they are so good........I made a cobbler from Paula Deens recipe and omg, thats all Im gonna say! Im going to make another one tonight and I have frozen enough peaches to keep us in cobblers for quite a while.
Heres my CVS score this week.........I did have to pay about 10 bucks out of pocket, but I also got 10 bucks back in free money......so basically I got about $50.00 worth of stuff for free........
So its hot and humid here, Im headnig over to the new brides house to swim later.....stay cool out there!!!!

Back from Paradise........

Well, it was sad to leave but after a week in Paradise its good to be home, besides, if I had stayed any longer we would have had to buy another ticket so my big butt could fit in the seat!!!!! Its seems like all we did was EAT!!!!! ok ok, we swam, we snorkled, we laid in the sun, we hiked, we got lost.....seriously lost, but a nice man in a golf cart gave us a lift so we didnt have to walk ANOTHER 5 miles!!!!
There really isnt any better ocean for swimming than Hawaii, it was awesome, and this sissy does not like cold water, and it was so nice and warm......we spent a lot of time in it. We ate a lot of plate lunches, which means a lot of macaroni salad, YUMMMMMMM, and rice.....the trucks have amazing food, they are all over the north shore. We also found a place that had what I will go so far as to call my fav thing in the world, a pinapple shave ice bowl, OMG, we had one the first night, and went back every night we were there for them, and it was a 1/2 hour drive to H'aliewa(Im sure I spelled this wrong) to get them but they were soooo worth it!!!! I seriously was so sad when we had our last one!!!! We had a great time, it was an awesome way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversery.....but it is oh so good to be home, I missed my dogs badly.........
Theres no place like home!
