And the winner is..........

First things first......my garden has a lot of firsts this week.....look how tall my sunflowers are getting......

First zinnia....

First daisy....

Gladiola.....

Sweet Peas......the smell is heavenly...

Im really drawn to yellow lately....so when I saw this purse...come to momma!!!!!

Well...I got tired of looking at these boxes in my garage, and hubby has been swamped, soooooo last night I decided to tackle it myself...oh my aching bones...I could have finished it too had I been able to screw these tiny little screws into the door hardware, but thats another story...the man will help me finish it...lololol....I'am woman hear me roar, I can do anything!!!!!

OK...onto the important detail of the day...the WINNER of my little contest.....YES...it was JACKS....come ON girls, are you all to young to remember this little game. It kept me occupied for hours, and later I played it with my girls, and I was so addicted to it I played it every recess at school...WHEN I wasnt playing hopscotch...which I am not going to try, trust me...
What ever happened to playing those games at recess, do the kids still do it??? remember Chinese jumprope? and the little chains and charms we used in hopscotch?
OH, and what was that game with the string we wound around our hands???? well...I think those were way more fun times for kids....so when I was at the market and saw the jacks, I just bought them on a whim, brought them home and got down on the floor, and guess what, it all came back to me.....so I will keep practicing, because who knows, someday I might have a grand daughter, and by then, I hope I can still get down on the floor to play a game of jacks with her.....and then get UP off the floor...lololol......
SO the winner is Anne from Cottons and Wools.....your goodies are on the way!!!!

Congratulations to Anne for winning your lovely contest.
Yes kids do play with Yoyo's and hopscotch and skipping games- at least they do on our school grounds.
They sometimes play with small rubber balls and a thing called a hackey sack which is a game that involves tossing and kicking the hackey sack to pass it.
Enjoy the jacks- your garden looks lovely.
Regards,
Anna

Oh my goodness, jacks was my favorite game when I was a girl and I was VERY good at it. I played constantly for quite a few years. One of my sisters gave each of us a set once at a family birthday party and I keep them here in my sewing room. They are small which is my favorite kind, easier to grasp as you swoop your hand over them. I want to play but I know the hip pain I'll get after sitting on the floor for a while...ouch. I ought to be a big girl and try anyway, right. ;D

Jacks. A game I was never good at so I never played. Maybe I should learn so that I can teach Punkie. Congrats to the winner!

Your garden looks wonderful. We have such a short growing season here that I have to live vicariously thru pictures. Thanks for a fun guessing game. Maybe we can play a game of Jacks together sometime. Brings back a ton of memories of my childhood.

Popped over from Sharon's blog... I loved to play jacks, and Chinese jumprope! We thought we were pretty cool if we could play without making a mistake/misstep!
My dad's favorite game was marbles! He was the state of Washington marble champ and got to go back east somewhere to compete! Thanks for bringing back a few memories!
