An exciting find!!!

So yesterday was one of those days where I had some time but no motivation to sew....so I decided to go on a hike. Now my house backs up to the Etiwanda Nature Preserve....so thats where I decided to go. Up there its very exciting, lots of old stuff to look at...its right in the foothills and there are some falls up there, and also lots of rements of the past. One such remnent is an old old chimney, made from rocks, the cabin is long gone, the chimney is all thats left of it. It was built in the late 1800s by pioneers. Its about a mile up in the foothills where I hike. Now I dont usually stop here, but since I had walked from my house, I usually drive the 2 miles and park..and then hike up....I decided to take a break. As I was sitting on a bench by the fireplace just daydreaming about how harsh life must have been back then I spotted this box under a rock in the corner of the fireplace. VERY COOL!!!

See it there under the rock!!!! Inside was a little booklet with about 10 entries by hikers who had found the box before me....

So I made my entries and carefully put the box back where I found it so the next person could have a nice surprise....

Its a awesome place to hike and Im always finding something new!!!!

Wow,,,how fun! I have seen those boxes before. We went to The Hotel California in the desert. Ever hear of that? They had the same thing. Interesting. Such a beautiful day for a hike. It was stunningly beautiful today. The sky was something else!!! Great shop of the city in the distance!!!
