Craft Day.....

Today was craft day at my friend Pams........6 of us good friends got together to make a craft from Pinterest. We have decided we will do this every month...its gets us together on a regular basis..and its FUN!!!!

We each brought treats....I made these....

And these...

There were lots of yummy goodies...

Coffee and tea and we were set!!!!

We made these pendents that are all over Pinterest...Pam supplied all the things we needed....I made a necklace and a couple of magnets. Next month...my house:)

While I was at Pams she showed me a quilt she aquired.....from a relative in the midwest.

If you enlarge the picture you can read the note card....can you imagine making this quilt on the Oregan trail,,,1860...amazing!!!!!! I can just imagine how hard it must have been..ALL done by hand!!!!...it looks like the blanket and binding were added later on to protect the binding I imagine? you can see thru the added binding to see the original binding....if quilts could talk eh?????

OK when I saw this tote my sister made I had to have it...anything with an Owl!!!!

She used wool to make the owl....its so stinking cute!!!! go look at her bags!!!!

My newest obsession...terrariums...remember them from the 70s. I remember planting them in old sparkletts bottles...do u remember that?????

They are back in style and Im so glad!!!!

Im very excited about something.....I have wanted a desert tortise for a long time....and Im getting a baby!!!!!! It wont be able to go outside for a couple of years, because of predators, hawks etc....it will live in a tank until it grows a bit...then it will go in the back yard. they hibernate in the winter. I live in a warm climate so it will be outside all the time once its bigger. As soon as I get a home for it I will bring it home...we cant decide between Franklin or Tuck...both turtle characters on Nick Jr....whatta ya think???

Oh geez...I forgot to comment on the quilt!!! What a wonderful piece. And to have the actual history is fantastic. I have a couple that my great grandma made, in about early 20's. Nothing as old as that though. Wow!!! I have often thought the same thing as you..."If quilts could talk!!"

The turtle sounds exciting. My youngest son has a red slider turtle named Toby. It is something how a turtle can get to know you from caring for it. The quilt is beautiful. So many stitches stitched with such TLC. Your craft get together sounds fun. Blessings!
